Therapy

Psychotherapy can be one of the greatest and most rewarding endeavors. It can draw out deeper feelings of personal worth, of purpose and richness in living. It is a calling to wounds that sometimes speak, and at other times hide. A therapeutic relationship will expose pain, discomfort, and barriers. More importantly, when there is safety and trust, this relationship will traverse the deep wells of the heart and heal ruptures that would otherwise be frozen in the past, or ripe for repetition in the future.

Jenny Hannah, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

I am a psychotherapist specializing in Art Therapy. With a strong personal foundation in mind-body awareness, I incorporate mindfulness techniques into sessions, offering an integrative and holistic approach to therapy. I believe in the power of experiencing life through an embodied, emotional, and relational process, and I respond wholeheartedly to my clients through this lens.

I work with creative adults who seek genuine meaning and purpose, helping them carve out a life path of authenticity, distill their inner truth, and embrace openness and vulnerability. I am passionate about guiding people to discover the confidence needed to create deep, positive, and loving relationships, using discernment to unravel patterned defenses.

I collaborate with individuals ready to face personal transitions, work through feelings of stuckness, and heal from familial, societal, and personal trauma. My approach is grounded in growing clarity, support, and compassion to empower the changes you seek.

My work is deeply relational, with the dynamics within the therapeutic relationship informing our work together. This genuine connection enhances awareness, enabling a clear, conscious, and wakeful life. The alchemical process of transparency shapes our relationship in real-time, reflecting and signaling your experiences beyond the therapy sessions.

My work with young children includes grief and loss, transitions, history of abuse, and divorced or separated parents. Expressive Arts Therapy and music therapy is heavily used in child therapy sessions as a way to increase therapeutic rapport, identify emotions, decrease anxiety, honor non-verbal communication, and increase feelings of agency.

History/Therapy Experience:

I earned my M.A in Psychology, with a dual emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy at Phillips Graduate University, a non-profit school based in Post-Modern Psychology. Prior to my Master’s degree, I earned a B.A. in Studio Arts at Cal State LA, with several public performance projects based in Relational Aesthetics (focusing on the dynamic social environment).

In 2013, I underwent training at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, working at bedside with physically disabled, dying, and trauma-affected children. I then trained at OPICA, an adult day care and counseling center for individuals and families affected by memory loss and associated neurodegenerative diseases (Dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s diagnoses). For my Master’s thesis, I developed an intensive 6-week program incorporating Mindfulness Based Art Therapy and Movement to treat symptoms of PTSD in Refugee Youth. For six years, I trained consistently under the guidance of Certified Jungian Analysts at Coldwater Counseling Center, a depth psychology oriented non-profit agency in Studio City, CA. As a counselor at University of the West, I worked with Buddhist Chaplains and undergraduate students seeking psychological support during their academic journey. My inspiration draws from deep studies in Art, Psychology, Yoga, Meditation, Tibetan Buddhist teachings, and Neuroscience.
